During my studio experience at Auburn University, I developed a love for concrete furniture and mold-able plywood. Being heavily influenced by Charles and Ray Eams and their Lounge Chair and Ottoman gave me the inspiration for the seat portion of this chair while the Architect Tado Ando provided the inspiration for the base portion of the chair with his craftsmanship of concrete and all of the possibilities it brings to structural settings. With this chair, I wanted to create something with a visual stance using materials in a way that was unfamiliar to me.
